Add a friend on Dopppel

Add someone by their email, or send them your invite link. Once you are friends you can start a Gäng, share a chat, or send them a plan to vote on.

What it is

Dopppel is better with people in it, and the Friends page is where you add them. There are two ways. Type someone's email in the box at the top to invite them. Or send them your invite link — the link and its QR code sit right under the box, so you can text it, post it, or hold up your phone.

There is no way to search everyone on Dopppel by name, and that is on purpose. Typing a name only looks through friends you already have. To add someone new you need their email, their phone in your contacts, or your link in their hands. Friends you added in the last week sit in their own box at the top, with a round "Say hi" button to start your first chat, then move into the normal list after a week. Under each name a small line says how long you have been friends and how many Gängs you share, and a long list gets A to Z letters. Tap any friend's name or photo to open their profile.

You can also find friends from your own contacts. Tap "Invite from contacts or a file" to pick people from your phone or a file. Dopppel shows who is "Already on Dopppel" with an "Add friend" button, and "Invite them" for the rest. To invite lots of people at once, paste many emails in the box and tap "Send all". The first 20 go right away, and the rest go out over a few hours. You can stop them any time. On a phone, you can also text your link to friends, one tap each.

How do I add a friend?

Type their email in the box at the top of the Friends page, or send them your invite link.

Can I search for someone by name?

No, and that is on purpose. Typing a name only looks through friends you already have. To add anybody new you need their email, your contacts, or your invite link, so nobody can sit there typing names to see who is on Dopppel.

What is an invite link?

Your own link to share. Anyone who opens it can chat with Dopppel right away, and the two of you become friends when they sign in. Its QR code is right under the box on the Friends page.

What can we do once we are friends?

Start a Gäng together, share a chat with them, or send them a plan to vote on.

Can I invite a lot of people at once?

Yes. Paste many emails and tap "Send all", or pick people with "Invite from contacts or a file". Big lists go out over a few hours, and you can tap "Stop".
