How do I find an old Dopppel chat?

Tap the search button in the side menu and type what you remember. Dopppel looks inside every chat you have saved, not just the names.

What it is

You said something useful three weeks ago and now you cannot find it. That is what search is for.

Search reads the words inside your chats, so you do not have to remember what a chat was called. Type a word you said, or a word Dopppel said back, and the chat comes up. It looks through all your saved chats — your own and every Gäng you are in — and it matches a friend's name too.

Only saved chats can be found. A temporary chat was never saved, so nothing from it shows up here. Neither does a chat you had while signed out.

How to use it

  1. 1Tap the search button in the side menu.
  2. 2Type a word you remember — from the chat's name, from something said in it, or a friend's name.
  3. 3Tap a result to open that chat right where it is.
  4. 4Or tap Chats in the side menu to look through them all by name, newest first.

Questions

Does search look inside my messages?

Yes. That is the point of it. It matches the chat's name and the words said inside it.

Does it search my Gäng too?

Yes. Search covers every saved chat you can see — your own chats and every Gäng you are in.

Can I find a chat by a friend's name?

Yes. Type their name and the chats with them come up.

Why can I not find a chat I remember?

It was probably never saved. Chats you had signed out are not kept, and a temporary chat is not kept either.

What is the difference between search and the Chats page?

The Chats page looks at names only. The search button looks inside the messages as well.
