What is a temporary chat?

What it is
Sometimes you want to ask something and leave no trace. A temporary chat is for that.
Nothing about it is kept. It never shows up in your chat list, search cannot find it, and Dopppel learns nothing from it. It works the other way too: inside a temporary chat, Dopppel does not look at your memories or your old chats. It starts clean, like it just met you.
Because nothing is saved, a few things are off in there. Dopppel cannot set you a reminder, and it cannot make a plan with votes — both of those have to be saved to work. A document, chart or table still opens in the panel next to the chat, but you cannot save it, change it later, or send it to your computer. A temporary chat also does not belong to a project.
How to use it
- 1Start a new chat. The dashed chat button sits at the top.
- 2Tap it before you send anything. A "Temporary Chat" pill shows up, so you always know which kind you are in.
- 3Ask what you want to ask. The pill stays there the whole time.
- 4Leave the page when you are done. The chat is gone.
Questions
Is a temporary chat saved anywhere?
No. It is not in your chat list and search cannot find it. Leave it and it is gone.
Will Dopppel remember what I said in it?
No. Nothing from a temporary chat is kept, so nothing from it is remembered.
Does Dopppel still know me inside one?
No, and that is on purpose. It does not use your memories or your past chats in there. It answers you fresh.
How do I know I am in one?
A "Temporary Chat" pill sits at the top of the chat the whole time it is on.
Can I turn it off in the middle?
No. You choose before you send your first message. After that the pill just shows you which kind of chat you are in. Start a new chat to go back to a saved one.
Can I keep a document it made in there?
No. A document, chart or table opens in the panel so you can read it, but a temporary chat saves nothing — so there is nothing to change later or send to your computer.
